The first time I did this 4GB update I was notified and told I could "Play GTA V", but after launching it would re-log me in then show another 4GB update. I'll try the update 1 more time and see if it works. Aside from that, now that the update is lower in size (dramatically), I have downloaded a 4.01GB update 3 times already and it keeps doing it over and over again, or looping. I tried this and it mostly worked, though i didnt have a backup of the folder in Documents. Open GTAV Launcher to update the game (if you haven't played for a while) and proceed to Launch (play) It will then verify your game files and also perform the required registration key entries Open GTAV_Setup_Tool.exe and begin installation I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, installed the Retail (Rockstar Social Club) version of GTA V.Īlso check your Documents folder for a Rockstar Games folder, in my case it is:ĭownload the GTAV_Setup_Tool.exe (177 MB) for Windows from Social Club ( see below picture - the URL is )Ĭopy the folders you backed up above to their respective directories This works for me I have performed this a few times after reformatting or setting up new builds.
